Economic Survey 2024 Economic review is presented every year before the Union Budget is presented. It is the most important document to understand the state of the economy of the country. It is prepared by a team headed by the Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India.

On the first day of the budget session i.e. January 29, 2024 (Friday), the Economic Review 2024-21 will be laid on the table of the Parliament. The Economic Review is presented every year before the Union Budget is presented. It is the most important document to understand the state of the economy of the country.In this document all the detailed information about the broad prospect of the economy of the country, the treasury, inflation and all kinds of economic activities are provided. In such a situation it is important for you to know who prepares it. Also what is its importance and how many volumes are there in the document of Economic Survey.

What is Economic Review

We review all our economic activity in the recent year before preparing the budget for the new year. Look at your savings, take a look at your expenses and decide the expenses for the next year based on this review. This helps us understand our financial needs and management.Similarly, before the forthcoming budget of the country, the economic activities of the current financial year are reviewed. The Economic Review contains details of all financial activities for the period of one financial year. Volume-1, Volume-2 and Statistical Appendix are part of the Economic Review.

This document is prepared by a committee headed by the Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) of the Government of India. Presently Krishmurthy Subramanian is the Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India.

Since, the economic review reveals the economic vision of the Chief Economic Advisor of the government and the ground position of the economy. In such a situation, it is very important to know the Chief Economic Advisor of the country. Currently, Krishnamurthy Subramaniam is performing this important responsibility. K. Subramanian was appointed as the Chief Economic Advisor to the government in 2024. Prior to her appointment to the post, Subramaniam was a professor at the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad.

According to Subramanian’s LinkedIn profile, he did his PGDM from Kolkata-based IIM after doing electrical engineering from IIT Kanpur. In addition, he has also studied at the University of Chicago.
