Types of solar eclipse

Generally, solar eclipse occurs in three ways –

Full solar eclipse

This happens when the lunar between the Earth and the Sun completely covers the sunlight behind it. This event is called a complete solar eclipse.

Partial solar eclipse

In the event of this eclipse, the moon comes between the sun and the earth and partially covers the sun behind it. During this time, the full light of the sun does not reach the earth and this condition is called partial solar eclipse.

Annular solar eclipse

In this state of solar eclipse, the moon comes between the sun and the earth and does not cover the sun completely, covering only the middle part of it. During this time, the sun appears like a ring when viewed from the earth, which we call the annular solar eclipse.

Types of lunar eclipses

Just like solar eclipse, lunar eclipse is mainly of three types –

Full lunar eclipse

When the Earth revolves around the Sun, the Earth comes just ahead of it and at the same time the Moon comes before the Earth. During this time, the Earth completely covers the Sun, due to which the sunlight does not reach the Moon and this condition is called full lunar eclipse.

Partial lunar eclipse

In this state, the Earth partially covers the moon, which is called a partial lunar eclipse.

Shadow Lunar Eclipse

When the lunar orbit the earth, it passes through its perumbra, causing the sunlight to reach the moon a little bit. In this case the surface of the moon starts to appear somewhat blurred, which we call a lunar eclipse. Actually, this eclipse does not happen because the moon does not fall in it. For this reason, its sutak is also not valid.
